Privacy Notice — Social Media Foodie

McLamb Group Media ("Social Media Foodie") ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data processed through Social Media Foodie (the "Service").

1. Data we collect

Account data: email, display name, optional avatar — to create and operate your account.
Content: recipes, collections, notes, and source URLs you save — to provide the Service.
AI inputs: recipe URLs you submit for AI extraction — to generate structured recipes.
Usage and device data: IP address, browser, basic telemetry — for security, fraud prevention, and product improvement.
Support messages: anything you send us — to respond to you.

2. Legal basis

We process this data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), based on our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving the Service), with your consent where required, and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Who we share data with

Service providers / subprocessors: cloud hosting, database, and analytics infrastructure used to run the Service.
Merchant of Record: Paddle (paddle.com) handles payments, subscription management, invoicing, and tax compliance for purchases.
AI providers: AI-extraction requests send the recipe URL to our AI provider. We do not send your account data with AI requests.
Authorities: where required by law.

4. Retention

We keep account and content data for as long as your account exists, and delete or anonymize it when no longer needed. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us.

5. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including HTTPS in transit, server-side secret handling, and row-level access controls on user data — to protect your information.

6. Your rights

Subject to local law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any right, contact us at hello@thesocialmediafoodie.com. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. International transfers

Where data is transferred outside your country, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies.
